This Friday we were honored to welcome back Dr. Carla Macdonald of Huntington University, Professor of Social Work, and her amazing students for her annual fall visit to the Reading Room to learn about Islam and engage in a very informative dialogue about the Muslim community.

We also welcomed a group of undergrad students from our neighbors at North Park University led by student Melanie Jane Lofgren , Team Leader of North Park's Faith & Justice initiative.

As we often do for our guests, we served a light lunch catered by a local partner in the community, followed by a brief presentation and Q&A about Islam led by brother Umar Ali. We then walked next door to observe the Friday service at MCC, where the students had the opportunity to see firsthand Muslims fulfilling their Jummah prayer obligation.

We thank out esteemed guests for honoring us with their visit, and greatly look forward to hosting them again soon!
