Hosted this bright young sixth grader, Ryder and his mom Venessa, from Parker School to visit the Reading Room and MCC for Friday service. His assignment is to visit a place of worship and write about the way a religious community organizes, honors, and maintains its sacred spaces. I was so thoroughly impressed with this young man, his intellectual curiosity, his openness with sincere dialogue, his humbling etiquette, and his parents' commitment to nurturing an open-mindedness.

Despite the troubling political times we live in, this young man brings peace to my heart that his generation will be prepared to face the challenge of cleaning up the messes that our current generation has left for them.
